The big recap
Hey there! If you're not following the news on my Patreon, last Sunday, I've published a public post to recap what I've been able to do so far.

I've posted a preview on DeviantArt of what I've been cooking these last 2 days:

As I've started working on the actual meaty NSFW FMG animations, I have to accept the reality that support for the project has been dwindling over time, and it's at a point where I have a hard time justifying the time spent on it.
The main reason for the drop in support, of course, is that I still have to release a single update, and I've been working hard to make sure that the first one was decent enough (with new locations, new characters, new dialogues, entirely remade FMG sequence with Elena...). But it takes time, and I didn't make it easy for myself by aiming for quality over quantity and animations, nor was it an easy choice to decide to re-do all of the existing Chapter 1. I still think those choices can/will pay-off in the future, though.
However, there is a possibility that I totally fail at making enough money to pay my bills at the end of June, in which case I will probably give up on my plans, close the Patreon down, and finish the first update of the VN on my own time after switching the game to free on Itch.
Your support on Patreon is the only thing that can delay or entirely prevent that dire fate.
Best case scenario: if Patreon support increases. I keep going, I finish the first update, then I get to work on the next update, likely at a faster pace than the first since some prep-work has already been done for it, etc.
Eitherway, I will release what I've been working on to the world.
What's also possible is that I may release very soon the first update, without all the animations, then I will make a supplementary update with the animations, just so that the more impatient people can see that I'm not twiddling my thumbs.
Let me know what you think!

I just saw the trailer and it looks promising. I have faith that the project will recover.
I wish I had that much faith. :P
i think when the first update is released the interest in the project will rise again. there are simply too many games out there who are Abandoned. I know this is hard, but there are a lot of games out there, and you have to stand out. ^^ anyway i wish you good luck.
Agreed. On the other hand, I'm also worried of rushing an unfinished update that neither I nor the players will like.
Understandable. But especially with Patreon and co, you have to keep people entertained. I don't think anyone will be upset if an update isn't fully finished, or if something is changed in a later update. It's a process, after all, and mistakes are part of it. But people also need to see what's happening and, of course, want to test the updates and give feedback. Otherwise, you could just finish developing the game and release it.
I think I bought the game four months ago, and there hasn't been an update yet. I was also on your Patreon. But the promise of an update doesn't keep people interested for long. I would have been happy to test out even the small improvements. Mechanics or story aside, there are many games that change content later because they weren't well-received. But that doesn't mean it's a finished game yet. not everthing has to be perfect in an process ^^
There's some truth to what you're saying, but I don't see the point in uploading an update for the sake of uploading an update. I'm working on many little things which are all meant to come together soon. That's why I'm making weekly reports to show my supporters what I'm doing, which is better than just a promise of an update.
Really, if there hasn't been an update yet, it's because it's a difficult process that takes time. I'm not making pizzas over here. ^^
I'm making a visual novel with animated sprites.
Everybody's got a different opinion on what I should do that I need to parse. They all want something different out of this, so I need to make sure that what I release will have a little of everything for everyone.
So maybe I should release an update without all the animations, and I add those later... but then lots of people are gonna complain that those were what they were waiting for and I shouldn't have released a rushed update and they don't wanna download tons of versions.
Do I regret that every single character sprite is animated? Yes, but now most people are expecting that from me, so I feel like I need to deliver on that front.
I'm already gonna have to cut most of the voice-acting I got from Alexia (Elena's voice), because I'm gonna make too many changes to the dialogues.
So then you'll say that I could deliver updates faster if I paid someone to help, but I can't afford that from the 250€ I'm making monthly. I'd have to find someone willing to work for free. But then I would also need someone I could trust with everything, someone reliable and who's output-quality would feel right.
