1) I want to thank the dozen or so people who took it upon themselves to help support the project on Patreon and Itch after I sent out the previous posts worrying about the risk of having to end the project. These people saved the project for at least another month and I'm extremely thankful. It's people like them, who give feedback and chat with me either on Patreon or on Discord, who have reignited my drive to make this work!

2) I want to warn people that, although it's not reflected yet in the downloable initial release, when the first update will be out, I plan to downgrade the version numbers of the game. The current v1.0 will become v0.1, and the work-in-progress update I've so far been calling v1.1 will now be referred to as v0.2. This is because a few people have made me the fair and valid feedback that the initial release wasn't worth the title of a version 1.0.

For a long time as I was working on the game last year, until around October, it was meant to be nothing more than what it currently is, and I wasn't planning on making updates to it, hence the 1.0 version. This impacts a lot more than the version number, though, as a lot of code wasn't properly thought through with more characters/chapters/locations in mind.
For the record, in case you haven't been following, the first update for Dating Elena is planned to include a new prologue-chapter (3 characters, 2 dialogue sequences and more) + complete rework of Chapter 1 (entirely re-written dialogue with Elena, re-made art-assets and NSFW FMG animations).

3) Earlier this week, I've made the first updated NSFW FMG animation of the update for Chapter 1. The preview can be seen in the latest Patreon post for all my supporters, but also on my DeviantArt in case you're REALLY against financially supporting the development further. I'm very happy with how it turned out and I hope to make a lot more of them in the coming weeks.

4) This week, I've spent most of my time updating some older assets, namely icons and backgrounds of the initial release.
I've fixed things that were bugging me for months, and now, I'm confident in saying that all the backgrounds look better. A comparison of the old vs new background is up in the latest Patreon post for all my supporters.

5) Right now as you're reading this, I should be working on improving the Inspection gameplay, to make it clearer. We're getting into the phase where I'm gonna start putting together every artsy thing I've been doing since January.

6) I've also made a public poll for everybody on Patreon (including the free followers) to decide if I should rush the release of Update 0.2 without all the animation so that people can get their hands on something ASAP, or if I should instead focus on finishing things as planned and release Update 0.2 when it's ready. I'm partial of the latter, of course, but you never know.
